Physiological effects

• The health of articular cartilage is a key prerequisite for joint well-being. The articular cartilage acts as a sliding surface and shock absorber in the joint between the two bones, protecting the ends of the bones delimiting the joint. There are no blood vessels or nerves in the articular cartilage.
• In a healthy person, normal articular cartilage is constantly renewed. Moderate exercise is important for the joints as it helps to maintain and even increase the structural and mechanical properties of the articular cartilage.
• Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are cartilage tissue building blocks that are important for cartilage flexibility and durability.
• Cartilage consists of glucosaminoglucans and proteoglucans. If their production deteriorates, the construction of articular cartilage will suffer. Getting glucosamine as a dietary supplement can increase the body's own production of glucan. Chondroitin sulfate has a beneficial effect on cartilage, e.g. promotes cartilage cell metabolism.
• Vegetable glucosamine hydrochloride is prepared from corn-based glucose by fermentation, without organic solvents. Corn is thoroughly cleaned from the product, but the product is still not recommended for corn allergy sufferers.
• MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic, water-soluble sulfur compound that occurs naturally in the human body. Its concentrations are highest especially in the joints, muscles, skin, nails and hair. Sulfur is obtained from the amino acids methionine and cysteine, among others. MSM is easily absorbed, while broken in its other forms is difficult to exploit.
